Melting and Production of Forgings

01
Melting of alloys using pure charge materials such as iron, cobalt, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and others.
02
Melting in open induction furnaces with a capacity of 1 ton and vacuum induction furnaces with a capacity of 0.5 tons.
03
Improving the quality and accuracy of the chemical composition of steels and alloys through electroslag remelting.
Advantages of Melting Steels and Precision Alloys in Vacuum
Additional Information
Production of forgings is carried out using a steam hammer, which allows creating forgings with the desired geometric shape according to customer requirements.
Improving Alloy Quality
Due to the vacuum environment, the formation of gas bubbles and other defects in the alloy structure is excluded, which leads to improved mechanical properties, homogeneity, and stability.

Increased Accuracy of Composition and Product Purity
Melting in a vacuum allows for more precise control of the alloy composition, as it excludes interaction with the surrounding atmosphere and the risk of material contamination.

Heat Treatment of Strip

Annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, aging both according to customer-specified modes and independently developed ones.
Heat treatment in vertical and horizontal continuous furnaces.
Heat treatment in a protective atmosphere to preserve material purity and enhance their quality.
Advantages of Heat Treatment in a Protective Atmosphere
Protection of Alloy from Contamination
The protective atmosphere prevents contact of the processed material with harmful substances or contaminants present in the environment. This helps maintain the purity of the material during processing.
Uniform Heat Distribution
The protective atmosphere has improved thermal conductivity and heat transfer properties compared to air, which helps distribute heat more evenly throughout the mass of the material being processed. This ensures more precise and uniform thermal exposure and improves the quality of processing.
Preventing Oxidation
The presence of a protective atmosphere excludes the interaction of the processed material with oxygen in the air, thereby preventing oxidation and the formation of undesirable oxide films on the surface of the steel or alloy. This improves the preservation and quality of the processed material.

Product Quality Control

Five laboratories operate at PZPS for product quality control:
01
X-ray Spectral Laboratory
Analysis of the chemical composition of steels and alloys. The analysis is carried out using X-ray fluorescence and atomic emission methods.
02
Mechanical Laboratory
Determination of the main mechanical characteristics of materials: strength, hardness, and elasticity.
03
Metallographic Laboratory
Control of macro- and microstructure of materials using optical reflected light microscopes.
04
Physical Laboratory
Establishment of the main physical characteristics of materials: coercive force, magnetic induction, magnetic permeability, specific losses, electrical resistance, and coefficient of linear thermal expansion.
05
Laboratory of Linear-Angular Measurements
Control of surface quality and flatness of the strip by measuring roughness and sickle shape.
