Central Plant Laboratory

The Central Plant Laboratory of PZPS LLC is an integral part of production, ensuring the release of products that meet the requirements of regulatory technical documentation. The laboratory holds an Attestation Certificate with an approved scope of activities.
The laboratories that are part of the Central Plant Laboratory conduct research, measurements, and tests at various stages of the strip's life cycle: from incoming inspection of charge materials to micron strip.
Composition of the Central Plant Laboratory:
01
Spectral Laboratory;
02
Mechanical Laboratory;
03
Physical and Metallographic Laboratory;
04
Linear-Angular Measurements Laboratory.

Spectral Laboratory

Types of tests: determination of the chemical composition of low-alloy, high-carbon steels and alloys, as well as those based on nickel, iron-cobalt, and iron.
Spectral Laboratory is engaged in determining the chemical composition of steels and alloys based on nickel, iron-cobalt, and iron. Quantitative content determination is carried out using optical emission and X-ray fluorescence spectrometers.

Mechanical Laboratory

The Mechanical Laboratory allows determining the mechanical properties of metals and alloys:
01
Strip Tensile Test:
Determination of tensile strength;
Determination of relative elongation;
Determination of yield strength;
02
Strip test for spherical indentation depth (Erichsen test) from 0.1 to 2 mm thick;
03
Strip Hardness Test:
Rockwell hardness measurement (HRB, HRC, HRN, theoretically HRT);
Vickers hardness measurement (HV5, HV10, HV30).

Physical and Metallographic Laboratory

The Physical and Metallographic Laboratory is engaged in studying the structure of samples and determining the magnetic properties of materials:
01
Determination of microhardness;
02
Quantity, size of non-metallic inclusions;
03
Presence and thickness of the decarburized layer;
04
Presence and thickness of the oxide layer;
05
Grain size;
06
Qualitative determination of phases (ferrite, cementite, austenite, martensite);
07
Determination of resistance to intergranular corrosion;
08
Determination of the ferrite phase;
09
Determination of the thermal coefficient of linear expansion;
10
Determination of magnetic properties (technical saturation induction, coercive force, permeability, rectangularity ratio);
11
Determination of specific losses;
12
Measurement of specific electrical resistance.

Linear-Angular Measurements Laboratory

The Linear-Angular Measurements Laboratory allows for accurate measurements of the geometric parameters of the strip to meet the requirements of GOSTs for finished products:
01
Strip thickness and width;
02
Scratch depth;
03
Surface roughness;
04
Sickle shape;
05
Groove shape;
06
Burr size.
(i)
All laboratory equipment undergoes periodic verification and certification; measurements are carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOSTs and Technical Specifications.
