29NK is a chemically inert martensitic-austenitic alloy containing about 53% iron, up to 29% nickel, and at least 17% cobalt. It combines high strength with good ductility. It is considered one of the most suitable materials for durable, reliable assemblies and parts. It has elevated corrosion resistance in high-temperature service. Thanks to this, it is widely used in aerospace, chemical, and oil-and-gas industries. It is also often used in electronics because it allows soldering with tin- and lead-based solders.
Alloy 29NK is melted in electric furnaces. Precision calculation of chemical composition is used to achieve a low temperature coefficient of linear expansion (TCLE). Owing to high ductility, the metal responds well to forming, including forging, rolling, and stamping.
Kovar is one of the most sought-after nickel alloys thanks to its oxidation resistance, heat resistance, and chemical inertness. Its unique physical and mechanical properties make 29NK indispensable in the most demanding and extreme conditions. We are glad to offer this unique alloy to our customers and open new horizons of opportunity in industry and innovation.
