Petersburg Plant of Precision Alloys has successfully mastered production of heat-resistant alloy KhN78T in accordance with GOST 24982-81.
Austenitic alloy KhN78T contains 70% to 80% nickel, up to 20% chromium, and no more than 6% iron. It offers high strength and good ductility. It is widely used to manufacture critical parts and tubes that operate at high temperatures (up to 1100℃) without loss of mechanical properties.
During production the alloy undergoes heat treatment, including quenching at 980–1020℃ followed by air cooling, which significantly increases its strength and resistance to temperature effects.
A distinctive feature of production is the use of open-type electric high-temperature furnaces that require active stirring of the alloy during melting. This process ensures high quality of the final product.
Thanks to its elevated chromium content, alloy KhN78T has excellent corrosion resistance, making it an outstanding material for service in various corrosive environments, including oxidizing acids, alkalis, and seawater.
PZPS takes pride in its achievements in advancing production and is glad to offer customers high-quality materials for current and future projects.
