The association said aluminum can cut the cost of current projects by 50%. Wider use of aluminum cables in construction also reduces load on building structures.
Meanwhile the price of aluminum cable is 40% lower than copper. Aluminum cable is also safe, and its weight is 20–50% lower than copper, which further reduces installation costs.
Today the share of aluminum cable products in Russia is still low. In construction about 80% is copper. In energy, wiring and cable lines increasingly use aluminum.
